Knitted Dog Coats & Sweaters by Sandra Polley

This very popular knitting pattern leaflet contains instructions to knit a collection of four well fitting coats and sweaters for your smallest best friend. 

Joe - There are two sizes, to fit small and medium sized terrier type dogs. The sweater is all in one, knitted in double knitting. The stripe design is useful for using up oddments of yarn but it would also look smart in one colour.

Milly- This coat comes in three sizes, from a very small 25 cm length to medium Jack Russell size. There is side fastening for easy dressing.

Timmy - A cuddly cable design comes in one size only, for the very small dog.  Approximatly 25 cm length. Again with side fastening and knitted in double knitting

Dolly -This simple coat is knitted in a chunky yarn. For extra snugness, another simple belt could be added, knitted about 9 sts wide in garter st . 

All the coats can be adjusted at the waist to fit individual back lengths.

There are three sizes to fit:

• Small Whippet,
• Standard Whippet / Lurcher
• Standard Greyhound

The lengths are adjustable and instructions are given to knit them in a chunky yarn in either stocking stitch or an easy rib pattern.

There is also included a smart ‘City’ coat, knitted in double knitting for our smaller friends. Instructions are for two sizes: very small Yorkshire Terrier type and a medium Jack Russell size.

All designs have an underside for extra warmth, side button fastening for easy dressing and an adjustable belt.
